Shootout – 17/09/2015

Today we went over our ideas for our film. We discussed what type of shots we could use in our film that mirror those that are in classic westerns. We also discussed how we could use those shots.

Also, we screen tested part of the shootout short film we are making. The purpose of a screen test is to see how well the the shots work within the film. You can also get an idea of what the final film will look like.

We went to the park to do the screen test. We used a hand held camera on a tripod for our screen test as that is  what we’re going to use in our short film.

When we finished we went back to the college and edited the screen tests.

‘Shootout screen test’ – (password shootout)

The shots we used:

  1. Wide shot – our first shot was a wide shot because we wanted to show both the characters and the setting.
  2. Mid close up – this shot is more personal as you can see the characters emotions more and body language. We did the a mid shot at the side and from the front.
