Choosing a Director/Cinematographer

I have chosen to focus on the cinematographer Robert Yeoman, specifically in Wes Anderson films. I have chosen to do Robert Yeoman’s cinematography in Wes Anderson’s films as this is my favourite style of cinematography of his, even though he does other films as well.

His films with Wes Anderson:

  • The Grand Budapest Hotel
  • Moonrise Kingdom
  • The Royal Tenenbaums
  • The Life Aquatic
  • Bottle Rocket
  • Rushmore
  • The Darjeeling Unlimited
  • Hotel Chavalier
  • The Squid and the Wale

I’ve chosen to do his films because I have a real interest in the colours and shots he uses that makes his films so unusual.

As discussed in class—I think your interest is in Anderson, not Yeomans. Anderson (and his production designer) will pick the colours and source a cohesive palette. Yeomans will achieve their rendition in film.
