Writing the Voice Over

My whole film builds up to the point where the voice over starts. It’s important that this voice over is powerful because it portrays the whole message of the film and what links it all together.

To start writing process I need to idea generate and find the main message for my film. I need to make sure I have a strong message so it makes the film stand out and do it’s potential.

FIRST DRAFT:

We hear it every day and we just let it pass over our heads. Stories and comments that we get sick of. It feels like the world is telling us to

How did we let it get to this point, when did this become okay. What if you’re boyfriend, you’re son, you’re husband, or you’re friend said this to you. Said it to your face.

So here’s to the women who have fought, and keep fighting. To the women who speak out for a change without a second thought. To the men who stand with us, and keep fighting for what they believe in, even if they get knocked down. And here’s to the generation that see that something’s wrong, and will make the difference in the world.

Because we’re not feminazis, bitches, over man haters. We are people who believe in equality and are fighting for a better future for us, and generations to come. So instead of not talking about inequality because people are sick of hearing it, talk louder so people

Second Draft:

We hear comments, stories and jokes like this all the time, so much that it goes over our heads until we don’t notice them at all. They seem to blend into the rest of the problems and seem irrelevant. If you keep telling yourself it doesn’t effect you, you will start to believe it.

But it does effect us. The little things we let slide build up to create a bigger picture.

While you watch this video, 85 million girls aren’t allowed to go to school; 11.4 million girls and females are being forced into sex slaverly; 56 underage girls are forced into marriage; 2 women have died during child birth;

So here’s to the women who have fought, and keep fighting. To the women who speak out for a change without a second thought. To the men who stand with us, and keep fighting for what they believe in, even if they get knocked down. And here’s to the generation that see that something’s wrong, and will make the difference in the world.

To be a feminist, you have to agree with only one thing. All people should be equal economically, politically and socially.

Third Draft:

We hear comments, stories and jokes like this all the time, so much that it goes over our heads until we don’t notice them at all. They seem to blend into the rest of the problems and seem irrelevant. If you keep telling yourself it doesn’t effect you, you will start to believe it. A lot of people think they don’t need feminism because they already have equal rights.

But while you watch this video, 85 million girls aren’t allowed to go to school; 11.4 million girls and females are being forced into sex slaverly; 56 underage girls as young as six are forced into marriage; 2 women have died during child birth.

The idea that the world doesn’t need feminism is frightening. You are saying that it is okay that women are in equal to men and the facts are irrelevent. If you are a feminist, you believe women should be treated the same as men, not because we’re better, but because we’re people too. We’re not feminazis, bitches, or man haters. We are people who believe in equality and are fighting for a better future for us, and generations to come.

So here’s to the women who have fought, and keep fighting. To the women who speak out for a change without a second thought. To the men who stand with us, and keep fighting for what they believe in, even if they get knocked down. And here’s to the generation that see that something’s wrong, and will make the difference in the world.

Don’t let it keep happening, make the change. Don’t put up with people saying hate comments. Don’t ignore the signs someone you know is suffering from abuse. Don’t ignore the fact that if it isn’t happening to you, it isn’t happening somewhere else.

To say that you aren’t a feminist but believe we should be equal and that the changes need to be made, is saying that you care more about the name that will be attached to you, then what feminism actually embodies and the struggles we have faced.

Forth Draft

Would you call your self a feminist?

We hear it all the time: ‘feminism is a thing of the past;’ ‘I’m an equalist,’ ‘I feel equal to men’.

But while you watch this video, 85 million girls aren’t allowed to go to school; 11.4 million women and girls are being forced into sex slavery; 56 underage girls as young as six are forced into marriage; 2 women have died during child birth.

The idea that the world doesn’t need feminism is frightening. You are saying that it is okay that women aren’t equal to men.  We’re not feminazis, bitches, or man haters. We are people who believe in equality and are fighting for a better future for us, and generations to come.

To the men who stand with us, and keep fighting for what they believe in, even if they get knocked down. And here’s to the generation that see that something’s wrong, and will make the difference in the world.

To say that you aren’t a feminist but believe we should be equal, is saying that you care more about the name that will be attached to you, than what feminism actually embodies and the struggles we have faced.

Final Draft

while you watch this video, 85 million girls aren’t allowed to go to school; 11.4 million women and girls are being forced into sex slavery; 56 underage girls as young as six are forced into marriage; 2 women have died during child birth.

I am happy with this final draft of the speech as I think it has the right message I wanted to portray. It’s short but has all of the infomation that I want in. When I sound record, I need to make sure that the person saying it has the right tone of coice and that is clean sound, or the message could be lost.

You need to watch this – http://www.womensequality.org.uk/sophie_walker_s_leadership_speech

The voice-over is good but I still think it needs a little work. I think it is too wordy!
Work on this with me and Si.
